Our Story
Our story begins on the banks of the Duck River in middle Tennessee where Buddy and Kelley Rowlett raised their four children and built a life and a herd of Angus cows.
After 30+ years of marriage and a newly empty nest, they took a chance and decided to make a dream they’d always talked about “one day” of moving west a reality. In 2019, they sold their farm and took their cows and lives to Kansas.
Kelley’s vision for the grand old barn that awaited her at their new home place came immediately. The Barn was well loved and needed some work, but with some elbow grease and time it transformed into a picturesque and timeless space.
Originally, this labor of love was with one special day in mind—the wedding and reception of Buddy and Kelley’s oldest son, Lawson and now daughter-in-law, McKenzie. But it soon became clear The Barn was meant for even more.
Today, the Rowlett family still runs Angus cows and markets bulls, but in the midst of the pasture, and working barn, and hay field, sits a beautiful old treasure—The Barn.
